Im a rush last week to get things done because here in Canada this a long weekend celebration for the thanksgiving.
Wherever i go there are lots of people everywhere in Walmart, Costco, Canadian superstore, no frills etc. In Costco Richmond the people seem to be in a frenzy buying mode.
People are rushing to buy turkey, food and get some things prepared at home for family and friends gathering for the main event.
I was reared up in the Philippines so the thanksgiving has virtually no meaning to me. I know it is very important here in Canada and the united states on this special day and of course as residents here, i just have to get used to it.
I was pondering of going to my hometown Makati City for a vacation this December. December in the Philippines is widely celebrated and people are more festive and there are tons of parties.
You will normally gain around 10 lbs of weight every year when you go celebrate the Christmas season in the Philippines.
I was surprised that a striking notion of people not celebrating thanksgiving is also a big figure since the immigration and ethnocultural diversity in Canada is around 20.6% as reported by the statistics of Canada. I guess im not the only one.
I wonder why the turkey became a thanksgiving mascot. Some suggest that feasting on large amount of turkey meat will make you sleepy.
Since i do have knowledge on this subject.? I went to my trusty google source and the thanksgiving myth is busted. They say that turkey contains a lot of this so called amino acid L-tryptophan.
From my younger bodybuilding experiences before which i consume a lot of the BCAA branched chain amino acid before i sleep to recover stress and induced muscle growth.? I know that L-tryptophan induces sleepiness.
When i was introduced to Yoga it has more calorie burning effects and more long term health benefits and mind body connection.
So i just learned yesterday that turkey doesn’t cause you to get sleepy.??
It is the old-fashioned beer and binging which we all know.
Earlier during the day i go my locations as usual and hurriedly collected my bounty for the day. I headed down to Van city at Kingsway which is one of my favorite branch only because everything in that spot is very accessible for a vending service journeyman who is always on the road.
KFC, Boiling Point, Raijin Ramen and of course WholeClub which i normally head to once i get all my coins sorted out into paper bills.
Alas, i found for the first time a Townie ( two dollar coin ) with a hole on the center.
I quickly kept the coin in my wallet, i was contemplating to buy a plastic string and will try to attempt to use it on one of my vending machines and try to document it and try to upload it here on my future articles as an educational purpose.
I will show on my future article post what really happens when you insert this into the coin mech while my vending machine is open for everyone to see if this form of hacking still works.
I got another call from one of my vending service locations, there was this cooler and not working.
Its just a 15 minutes drive from where i am so i immediately run down to the location and found out that the cooler’s power cord was intentionally cut.
I immediately reported to the top honcho in that location. I guess he understood clearly that it was not my fault why this thing happened. The plug was re connected and powered, i was told that on my next visit to observe if the cooler is still functioning.
I was very happy that this cooler is supplied by Coke company so i just to have it reported and see if they can do something about it. If you are for the long haul in the vending service industry, you have to set up accounts with coke or Pepsi. It seems that Coke has a stronghold on most of my accounts. Customers loves to consume coke products at my end here in the lower mainland.
Coke truck suddenly called that i have some deliveries to be sorted out so i have to figure out the cooler problem on my next visit.
It is important to establish vending service accounts with large distributors so that they can offer some help when the problem arises like the coke cooler. If i were to buy a cooler it will cost me around $600 to $1,200 at craigslist.
If you have a very good account with Coke as a supplier then it would be very beneficial for your business since all the soda pop machines and coolers will have to be serviced free of charge.
It is really up to you as a vendor to choose if you will go with Coke or Pepsi.
Here in the lower mainland as i have mentioned before, coke is the prominent player. But of course, the playing fields changes over time.
There will be customers who likes to eat Chinese food and there will be customers who likes to eat just sushi and customers who likes to eat green salad bars.
I for one, eats green salad bars when im on the go but plunge on chocolate bars and chips when im comfortably seated right on my laptop doing my blogs which is far from what you call healthy living.
Healthy living changes over time and gradually.
So in this aspect, soda pop, chips, chocolate and gummy jelly will always be there.
You can blame it on the all that sugar.
